Shoutin' Sugar. It is a lip gloss and an obsession. I once was a frequent purchaser of this color made by bonnie bell. Yes it was a $3 drug store variety, and how I loved it. It shined like none other, and had a delicious smell. I think it must have been discontinued some time around 2002 because I remember taking in an old bottle in to the MAC counter and trying to find a similar shade. Which I did, and that was explicit. However I was never happy with explicit simply because it was not the exact same. It was a fine gloss, but I had something in mind, and it was different than I expected.
When I get something stuck in my head it becomes an obsession. I simply must own it. There was the time when I wanted a huge pearl necklace. And so I got it. I wanted a red shawl, and I have it. I longed for "diamond" hoop earrings, and I found them. This year I had to own an Anne Taintor Calendar, and I acquired one.
For years now when ever I am in a grocery store and on the cosmetic isle, I wander past the bonnie bell, and let my eyes slide over all there isles, never seeing it. Never to be seen again.
I realize that my search for Shoutin' Sugar will not end with Bonnie Bell reading my blog, and deciding to make me one last batch, and bestowing upon me a life time supply. So I think that I must find a suitable replacement, or my obsession will just continue on, and I really want to be over it!
I hear the Bonnie Bell makes a color called Creme Brulee that is similar. I hope to find it soon and end this madness with in me.

I thought it was shoutin' suga.
Was the R there the whole time and we just never pronounced it.
I found a tube of the blessed stuff long after it had gone missing from drug store shelves and reveled in it but it soon, inexplicably, vanished.
I sometimes see it's shadow in my lipstick case and my heart beats a little faster as I dig through the other tubes of other shades and find that it was a mirage.
Perhapse we're just not meant to have the "Suga"
Maybe it's the Marry Poppins of Lip color. It came, blessed our lives and when we could get along without it It moved on to find other girls in need of it.
When my obsession first started and I began Googling it I was spelling "Shoutin' Suga", because that's how we were pronouncing it, and got nothing. But then I found a reference to it on makeupalley.com (it's wonderful, try it out Eva) where other girls morn it's loss too. Some said they also tried MAC's explicit. Others said they are now using the Bonnie Bell Creme Brulee.
